I’m Pete – Head of Marketing here at Pinpoint.

We’re a high-growth, bootstrapped, HR-tech start-up building and selling software that helps in-house recruitment teams attract, hire, and onboard the best talent.

Over 90% of our new business is sourced by Marketing. In 2022 we’re going to (1) grow revenue more than 100% and (2) set the foundations for significant future growth by building a brand that our audience knows, likes, and trusts.

We’re in a super competitive market so we need to differentiate our brand and we believe that producing best-in-class educational content is an important part of that. 

That’s why I’m looking for a Video Producer to join our fully remote Marketing team. We’re a small team, there’s a lot to do, and we need someone who can join us and start making a significant impact fast. And while you’ll report into Marketing, you’ll be spending just as much time working with Sales and Customer Success because their ultimate goal is the same as ours—revenue.

What’s the role?

This isn’t just about editing. We’re looking for someone who wants to understand our product and market deeply, who wants to script and present videos themselves, and who wants to own all aspects of the process from scripting and filming through graphics and editing. 

Working as part of a small marketing team (currently 2 + you) you'll:

  • Contribute ideas for how we could better use video to meet our business goals across customer acquisition and retention
  • Write compelling, engaging scripts for you or the broader team to present
  • Be a face of the brand—presenting videos, conducting interviews, and hosting webinars
  • Produce high quality, engaging edits—from perfectly shot footage to Zoom recordings, full edits to high energy social cuts
  • Take our brand assets and turn them into a library of reusable templates and graphics, ensuring our videos are presented consistently and on brand
  • Manage shoots including scheduling of participants and equipment set up
  • Be the go-to expert on video technology and developing processes that deliver consistently great results when it comes to recording video in any format 
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success, and the rest of the Marketing team to ensure we’re focussing your resources on the areas that are going to deliver the biggest results—it’s going to be a combination of everything from producing how-to videos, onboarding guides, and product demos, to editing our podcast and hosting webinars.
  • Scope and estimate projects accurately so that we can work together to prioritise your workload ensuring you focus your resources on the areas that’ll deliver the biggest results
  • Manage your own production calendar 

About you

  • You know how to tailor an edit to perform well on different channels
  • You enjoy working collaboratively across departments
  • You write like you talk
  • You’re a fast learner and you know how you’ll approach getting up to speed with our product and market
  • You’re a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large groups of customers, prospects, and analysts
  • You can think strategically and ensure the content you produce aligns with customer pain points and our positioning
  • You know how to get the most out of every piece of content—whether that’s a webinar, podcast episode, customer interview, or scripted piece to camera
  • You’re critical of your own work and always looking for ways to learn, improve, and stay ahead of the curve when it comes to creativity

What success looks like

3 Months: 

  • You know the product inside out and can give a demo as well as anyone on our sales team
  • You have a deep understanding of our customer’s pain points and our positioning
  • You’ve started building a library of graphics and templates 
  • You’ve taken over responsibility for producing our podcast videos
  • You’ve audited our current video content and decided what to keep, bin, update, or repurpose
  • You’ve met with key stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success and created a calendar of high-impact work that you’re going to deliver over the next 3 months 

6 Months:

  • You’ve produced multiple videos that will have a significant impact on our business
  • You’ve taken over responsibility for keeping our low-touch onboarding video library up to date
  • You’ve a compelling story to tell about the impact that the videos you’ve produced have had a material impact on the business
  • You’ve contributed to our distribution strategy and identified new ways to use the videos your producing so that they have the most impact
  • You’ve learned where the videos you produce are having the most impact, and produced a calendar of even higher-impact work that your going to deliver over the next 6 months
