There are over 30M small businesses in the United States, but only a tiny fraction of them have a workplace savings program in place. As the savings gap in the country widens, it’s imperative that every worker has access to and participates in their company’s savings program, such as a 401(k) or 403(b). We believe that American workers should have easy access to an inexpensive, flexible, and intuitive solution to save for a brighter future. 

Unfortunately, prior to Vestwell, small businesses have been neglected and underserved, with expensive, inflexible, poorly designed offerings built on old, mainframe software. Vestwell is changing that, starting with rebuilding the core infrastructure for the modern era.  

Vestwell’s north star is to be the engine behind a $30T industry, powering all payroll-deducted workplace savings programs for small-to-midsize businesses, such as 401(k), 403(b), IRA, emergency savings accounts (ESA), health savings accounts (HSA) , 529 college savings, and alike.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Content Marketing Manager to develop, own, and execute our content strategies. This role reports directly to the Head of Marketing and will be an integral part of the marketing team. The successful candidate must have a passion for financial content and is thrilled about the opportunity to shape the future of content at a fast-growing, VC-backed company.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

In this position you’ll be responsible for a number of items, as it pertains to content marketing management oversight. The job responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Work with Head of Marketing to define and execute marketing content strategy
  • Produce and manage original content, including writing original pieces for web articles, emails, whitepapers, case studies, social posts, newsletters, video scripts, etc.
  • Define and develop KPIs to demonstrate success, analyze content performance, identify trends, and areas for optimization
  • Manage a robust content calendar that includes all external communications, content, timing, and ownership across different team members
  • Work with cross-functional teams and freelancers on projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS

The Necessities

  • A passion for content with 3+ years of experience in content role for financial services and/or FinTech company
  • Outstanding writing style and editing skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in clear ways, but you also have an interest in all forms of content, not just written
  • Strong understanding of the finance industry and willingness to experiment and innovate with creative ideas and angles
  • Proven experience creating diverse content for products and asset classes across different content mediums, including web, audio, video and social media, etc
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and driving content strategies that result in increased revenues and brand awareness
  • Ability to see the big picture, while still focusing on the details and ensuring accuracy in everything we publish
  • A strong team player who is also comfortable with self-directed work
  • Experience working with web-based CMS and other publishing tools
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that allows you to be nimble and adapt to changing company needs and jump into new projects with ease
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent combined work experience
