What we do in traffic acquisition: 

We are a world class performance marketing team that focuses on managing large scale marketing campaigns across all areas of travel. Paid Social is a crucial channel in our portfolio, and is ripe for disruption and tremendous growth, especially as we scale our revolutionary subscription program, Tripadvisor Plus, alongside our hotels and attractions businesses. We experiment, scale, and optimize world-wide initiatives, working closely with analytics, product, engineering, and design.

 What you’ll do:

This person will be the channel owner of all our paid social marketing campaigns on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat and Pinterest. This involves the creation and day-to-day account management of our marketing campaigns, the analysis of our marketing efficiency and the improvement of those campaigns through creative optimization. You will also contribute by identifying new partners to test and grow the business. You will have experience buying media, managing and optimizing performance marketing campaigns at scale. 

The key areas of responsibility include:

  • Create and operate global paid social campaigns: creative coordination, audience definition, bid monitoring, day-to-day optimizations. 
  • Run data analysis and identify opportunities for optimizing at various stages of the funnel (CTR, CVR, ROAS). Drive testing strategies.
  • Manage internal development efforts to launch and optimize partners (e.g., new landing page requirements, tag integration, product feeds, catalog creation etc).
  • Work closely with the design team to develop and optimize new creatives on an ongoing basis.
  • Build strong relationships with partners and continuously grow relationships and identify ways to generate incremental revenue for the business.
  • Set performance goals for each partner initiative and work towards meeting these goals.
  • Identify a campaign plan for top partners, focusing efforts on the items that will yield the greatest return on investment while at scale.
  • Collaborate with internal functional teams to maximize channel performance (this includes product, design, engineering and analytics).
  • Provide updates on campaign performance to the Senior Marketing Manager and wider traffic acquisition team.
  • Forecast quarterly and track partner pacing on a weekly basis.

What are we looking for? 

We’re looking for someone who’s analytical, proactive, strategic, not afraid to speak up, and who’s ready to take the lead on our paid social efforts for our growing businesses.

  • A minimum of 5 years experience with platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, and SnapChat as well as external media partners and creative platforms such as Smartly, Marpipe or SticherAds. 
  • Experience working with various cross-functional, internal and external groups to deliver meaningful results on time and on budget with limited direction.
  • Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple projects at a given time.
  • Proven track record of obtaining results from resources that are not directly on the team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and perform a wide variety of tasks over the course of the workday.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Proven analytical and strategic thinking skills as well as strong data analytics experience.
  • Able to reprioritize projects to meet business demands and changing marketing focuses.
  • Strong knowledge of and affinity for emerging trends in social media, tracking and performance marketing.
  • High self-motivation with a sense of urgency, strong project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
