Your Role:

We're looking for someone to join our team that has a genuine interest in creating a world served by exceptional professionals by marketing new products that help improve how higher education admissions processes select for people skills, and how these skills are evaluated and taught within the programs themselves. This Product Marketing Manager will work with the growth team to explore new and existing products into new markets.

You will work with a Solution Marketing Manager to understand a new market, and how your product can solve a need in that market. From there, you will build and own the marketing playbook, including buyer personas, messaging, pricing and packaging, internal and external communication, competitive landscape, and sales enablement development. You will manage the engagement and conversions throughout the lifecycle with new products. You’ll lead advisory panels and interview market partners in the journey of defining new products that solve important problems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the growth strategy of existing products into new markets, and running beta plans of new products.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Director of Product Marketing. We are a remote-first company but will return to a limited office presence post-Covid to accommodate employees that want/need an office.

You will:

  • Have a deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and identify opportunities for growth and optimization
  • Work with growth product management to pilot new products
  • Investigate and test new channels to communicate with our existing customers
  • Run marketing campaigns, create and test messaging and other growth experiments end-to-end, including design, strategy, and execution
  • With the help of digital marketing, measure the impact of each campaign; scale successful campaigns; automate campaigns and improve targeting
  • Work cross-functionally with product, development, and creative to meet ambitious growth targets
  • Successfully transition the knowledge gained from pilots back to the marketing team
  • Be curious and have a scrappy "roll up your sleeves" approach to work

In 12 months:

  • You will have an intimate understanding of our customers and their needs, both present and future
  • You will be a source of new ideas around strategy for both sales- and product-led growth
  • You will be known as a champion of cross-functional meetings and workshops that drive collaboration and proper prioritization of marketing activities
  • You will have a proven and trusted blueprint for entering new markets
  • You will be known as a subject matter expert to our team and external partners who also view you as curious, caring, and driven to solve complex problems using smart marketing initiatives
  • You will have shown that you are a superstar at analyzing a potential market, driving forward marketing plans, and identifying pain points where Altus can fit

You have:

  • 4+ years of product marketing experience
  • 2+ years working in a growth product marketing capacity
  • Previous background in B2B or B2C marketing, preferably with exposure to higher education
  • Highly organized, strong analytical ability, and outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
  • A genuine interest in and curiosity about edtech

Our hiring process:

Our hiring process optimizes for a positive candidate experience. The general hiring process looks like the following:

  1. Introductory phone screen: Chandra (our Recruitment Specialist) will review your application and if selected, schedule a phone call to get to know you better and tell you more about the role and company.
  2. If you pass the phone screen, you’ll have a video chat with our Director of Product Marketing, Rebecca, to discuss your experience in more depth.
  3. Remote team interview: Once you pass the video interview, we will schedule a remote team interview where you will virtually meet with 4-6 members of our team to assess your technical skills, values fit, and cultural add. You may also be asked to complete a short task that closely mirrors some aspects of the role. The remote interview takes about 3 hours.
  4. Reference Checks: We'll ask for 2-3 professional references to chat about your time working together.
  5. Final Decision: The hiring manager will consolidate all of the feedback and let you know of their decision (there may be a quick additional call at this stage to help us make a decision)
  6. Offer: If you are our perfect match, and we're yours, an official offer will be made!
